Suggestions for a Visit

Tips to help you

Getting the most out of your Reiki session. The following tips will help you to get the most out of your first Reiki session:

* Dress comfortably (jeans, sweats, shorts).
* Wear slip on footwear (sandals, flip flops, loafers) since many people find it most comfortable to take their shoes off during a Reiki session.
* Be sure to be well-hydrated both before and after your Reiki session. Reiki energy helps to flush toxins out of your body so drinking a lot of fluid is helpful.
* Plan to arrive 10 minutes earlier than your appointment to avoid feeling rushed or misinterpreting directions. It is best to verify directions on Map Quest (www.mapquest.com).
* Come prepared with an idea of what you'd like to get out of your session. Are you feeling stressed, emotionally overwhelmed, do you have pain, is it chronic, are you seeking Reiki as a complimentary therapy to go along with your current treatment for a particular medical condition?
* You will be asked to read and sign a release form on your first visit which states that the Reiki practitioner makes no promises of a cure for your condition. You will also be asked to fill out a simple intake questionnaire to help me to get to know you better and best meet your needs during your Reiki sessions.
* If you are unsure whether your medical provider would feel comfortable with you having a Reiki session, please ask them. They may always call me with any questions. Your medical history and any information that you provide will be kept strictly confidential.
* Please let me know if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant. This would not exclude you from a Reiki session however hand positions may need to be modified.
* If something makes you feel uncomfortable in any way during your session, please inform me immediately and we can modify or terminate the session.
* At the end of the Reiki session, you will be asked to slowly open your eyes and increase your state of wakefulness. Please be sure to sit up slowly and dangle your feet over the side of the table to be sure that you do not experience any dizziness from being in a deeply relaxed state.
* You will be offered water at the end of your session.
